In love with the creations of Jean Paul Gaultier

A week ago I’ve been to the amazing exhibition ‘The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier’. A dazzling multimedia show at the Kunsthal Rotterdam. Jean Paul Gaultier is a fashion designer from France. You might know him from things as the white and blue Breton shirts or the famous corsets with pointed bra cups which he designed for Madonna and Lady Gaga.

While traveling to the exhibition we had to take the tram. During the ride we saw a lot of old trees which where ‘dressed up’ with a blue and white stripped kind of corset. Everybody in Rotterdam must know who Jean Paul Gaultier is.

The multimedia show of J. P. G. was overwhelming. The exhibition is the ultimate expression of fashion creativity. The exquisite sets and extravagant looks are provocative and daring. J. P. G. continually tests the boundaries of what is regarded as ‘normal’ and ‘divergent’. His work is breath-taking, the craftsmanship and the extraordinary details awe-inspiring. Hundreds of hours of painstaking dressmaking, each stich and bead and feather and crystal and embroidered flower sewn by an expert hand. With an feeling for the spirit of times J. P. G. links up with existing cultures and subcultures such as the world of sailors, punk, Glam Rock and graffiti. His collections are inspired by world cultures, from Africa and India to Russia and Greece. The show at the Kunsthal Rotterdam presents over one hundred and forty creations from early nineteen-seventies to the present day.

At that day, at that time I really fell in love with Jean Paul Gaultier. I admire his infinite creativity and ‘his passion for fashion’. The show was great, the creations,  the interactive mannequins (so realistic that it was almost scary), the sketches, the photographs, the films and video clips were absolutely awesome.

In love whit my most special present

This is going to be just a quick post. I finely have a week’s holliday from school but I am still very busy. This is the time to do all the things I wanted to do before, but wasn’t able to, because I had to do my school work. But I like being busy, so I’m totally fine. A few weeks ago I celebrated my eighteenth birthday. It was a very nice day and I had lots of fun. I was and still am, very happy with my most special present, a micro lens for my camera! I dreamt of it for a long time so I am really happy whit it. These are a few of  the first pictures I took with it. These pictures are  from my scarf, you can see so many details from the material, you can see every thread.
I hope you like the pictures as much as I do and want to tell me what you think of them.

Just an other way of watching

These are the pictures I actually wanted to post last weekend, but last weekend I was to busy because I had to pack my bag. I’ve been on a city trip to London. London was great, I had a lot of fun and I have seen a lot of beautiful things. The weekend I got home, I was so tired of walking, shopping and travelling through London that I didn’t do a thing, and that is very unusual for me!  Because of my ‘lazy’ weekend I was a bit behind with my homework. So I had to do a lot before I could do this post, poor me!
But now finely I have time to show these pictures. For the pictures of my camera shirt I went to a location I have never been before. It is a bit of an lost place with a lot of beautiful nature. In 1811 there was built a fortification by the French . Now, 200 years later, I went there and took these pictures. The fort is still standing, but a lot of walls are covered with graffiti and nature is slowly taking back his space. It turned out to be a perfect location!
I also took some pictures of birds. Finally the weather is becoming better, so I don’t need to worry about them anymore. But the last few weeks it was freezing and sometimes even snowing. Normally it is a lot warmer and sunnier at this time of the year. It was very hard for het birds to find food, so to help them a bit we bought apples en spread them around in our garden. It’s very cute to see all these different kinds of birds eating from our apples. Even our cat Cia, didn’t try to catch them. After a few attempts she must have realised that she just wasn’t fast enough. I hope you like the pictures and want to tell me what you think of them.

This blackbird is my favourite because of the one white feather. It makes him so recognizable.
